Help to Buy is changing
The government’s Help to Buy scheme continues to help lots of our customers moving into a new home, whether they are existing homeowners or first time buyers.
And why not?
This great scheme is so simple: you save a 5% deposit and the government will lend you up to an additional 20%. That means you’ll have a 75% mortgage and own 100% of your home!
So how is the Help to Buy scheme going to change?
UNTIL MARCH 2021
At the moment, the current scheme is available to first time buyers purchasing a new home AND existing home owners.
FROM APRIL 2021
There are two important changes to the scheme from April 2021.
- The Help to Buy scheme will only be available for first time buyers, existing homeowners can no longer use the scheme to purchase a new home.
- There will be a new regional property price cap, which will limit the value of the home you can buy with the scheme
Eccleston Homes continues to provide the Help to Buy scheme to its customers, at selected developments and on selected plots.
Please ask us about Help to Buy and our team will be happy to advise on availability for this scheme.
