Top tips for tasteful festive interiors

We understand that the first Christmas in your new home is one you want to remember, so take a look at some of our top tips for tasteful festive interiors!

1.) When it comes to the all-important tree, less is more. Keep it minimal by choosing two colours, and please go easy on the tinsel! Don’t under-light—there’s nothing sadder than a tree with too few lights.

2.) Don’t have an open fire? Not a problem. Candles can work wonders at adding a warm ambience to any room.

3.) Go natural. Homemade garlands are very traditional but can also look contemporary. Get out in the great outdoors to gather your materials or you can even do your bit for local businesses by visiting little craft shops and Christmas fairs.

4.) Personalisation is a key trend this Christmas and includes everything from bespoke baubles to hand-stitched named stockings!

5.) Give your dining room Nordic charm with crisp stripes and checks in red and white. Add snow-white highlights with ceramics and candles.

6.) Seasonal flowers can be particularly striking at Christmas. Pop them into a tall glass vase and place them on a table in a corner of the living room or dining room to create another focal point other than your Christmas tree

7.) Get creative with the way you display your cards this year. Save space and create your own Christmas card bunting with a bit of craft string & some pegs.
